Chocolate Frappe

Chocolate Frappe

You know how I like my obscure food holidays (especially when chocolate is involved), and with tomorrow being National Frappe Day, I decided to do some digging and find a chocolate frappe recipe!

A frappe is a Greek beverage (in fact, it’s been dubbed the national coffee of Greece), and is traditionally made with spray-dried instant coffee and foam. There are many variations, not the last of which involves chocolate for a rich mocha.

The packaging is different than the usual bags – these are in slim recloseable boxes and the M&M’s are in a resealable plastic package inside. The candy itself is a little bit larger than a regular M&M (smaller than a peanut M&M, though) and has …read more

Chocolate and Coffee

Looks like a nice glass of chocolate milk, right? Actually, it’s even better (in my opinion!).
A couple of years ago I tried to duplicate a very popular iced mocha coffee beverage from a very popular coffee chain. The version I like the best is sold in cute little 9 oz bottles at the grocery store that cost an arm and a leg. I looked it up online and had a slim little collection of recipes in my folder dedicated to this one thing. Anyway, it failed miserably. I even bought an espresso maker (albeit a cheapy one) to no …read more
