With the fall and winter holidays come a lot of fun ways to change up standard treats and desserts. This one for rocky road treats uses a fun assortment autumn and Halloween candies that would be great for a class or office party a teacher treat.
If peanuts are a no-go, you can substitue chopped pretzels or even Rice Krispies.

Chocolate Halloween Pops

I think Halloween is one of the more fun holidays to decorate and plan for, especially if there’s a party or get-together involved! For Halloween especially, making decorations that are edible or that your guests can take home with them is a small but fun detail that will be appreciated by adults and kids alike.
The cute chocolate pops pictured above are available at The Chocolate Vault, and the mold designs range from cute to creepy, with spiders, spiderwebs, ghosts and even haunted houses cast in milk, dark and white chocolate.
If you don’t feel like purchasing the pops, you can make …read more
Wordy Wednesday: My Chocolate Drawer

I feel like an addict showing off my stash with this picture! That’s probably not too far off the mark, though!
This is my chocolate drawer. We moved into this house six months ago and had more drawers and cupboard space in the kitchen than we’d had at our last house, and while unpacking I just stuck my treats and chocolate in this drawer to get them out of the way and that’s where they’ve stayed. It’s a step up from the box stuffed into a cupboard that I used at the last place! If we ever need the drawer these’ll …read more

Snack giants Keebler, Little Debbie, General Mills and Austin are recalling peanut butter treats in the wake of the salmonella-tainted peanut butter scare from last week.
Though there have been no complaints about illnesses from the Little Debbie snacks specifically, the company is still recalling peanut butter toasty sandwich crackers and peanut butter cheese sandwich crackers made since July 1.
General Mills is recalling their popular LARABAR Peanut Butter Cookie and JamFrakas Peanut Butter Blisscrisp snack bars.
The Hy-Vee supermarket chain is recalling bakery products that contain peanut butter, and Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products, which sells through Wal-Mart has recalled several brands …read more

Williams-Sonoma Big Food Sale

Williams-Sonoma has a ton of delicious-looking treats currently on sale!
If you don’t have a W-S close by you can easily order online as well. We’ve got one in the next city over (that I know of), but this is not a weekend I feel like venturing out. Not to mention I’d probably get so distracted by everything else in there that I’d forget what I went in for.
Just look at the Chocolate Peppermint Gâteau, Five-Layer Mousse Cake, and Recchiuti Chocolate Apple Slices. I still have a week until the diet starts, right?

Youtube user “MyHappySock” has created a video about the chocolate treats he makes for the holidays. These fun treats couldn’t be any easier and he includes all the steps for everything from a chocolate-covered s’more to chocolate-covered Oreos and even an idea for using up the extra dipping chocolate.
I think this year I might try the chocolate-dipped Oreos and pretzels for my goodie bags. Yum!
Get a Chocolate Treat Every Hour

This is perfect for the chocoholic who has everything: The Chococlock delivers a little piece of chocolate every hour on the hour! It plays “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies” and gives you 30 seconds to retrieve the chocolate before it closes back up for another hour.
It’ll hold about 30 pieces of chocolate, like Whoppers or peanut M&M’s, and there’s even a “cheat” button on top so you can sneak a few more in between deliveries. It also has a light sensor so the door doesn’t open when it’s dark, and you can manually turn it off too.
