Fair Trade for Cupid

Even though the world’s cocoa industry has some dark secrets, there are things you can do (instead of boycotting chocolate). Chocolate that is certified as “fair trade” is produced without child labour and gives cocoa farmers a reasonable price for their crop. This Valentine’s Day is where you come into the picture.
Visit Global Exchange, and follow their five steps to keeping Cupid in line with fair trade. These include using their Fair Trade Chocolate Valentine’s Day Action Kit, distributing their free Valentine’s cards, sending a fax to World’s Finest Chocolate in support of free trade chocolate, using a Free Trade Chocolate curriculum in school, and letting Global Exchange know if you are part of a fundraising group that uses World’s Finest Chocolate and would like them to support the Free Trade initiative.
Let’s make our chocolate habit do some good in this industry.
