Whole Foods Organic Chocolate Truffles

We had to venture out to Whole Foods last week to see if we could find some elusive Thanksgiving dinner ingredients and passed by a little sample table set up with some Organic Chocolate Truffles.

trufflebox.jpgOf course we had to stop and try them and as you can imagine they were amazing! My husband actually went back for one more which surprised me because he’s not a huge fan of plain chocolate.

We bought an 8.8 oz box for $4.99 and have been enjoying them all weekend. Being covered in cocoa, they’re a bit messy so we’ve actually been poking at them with a toothpick to get them out. I know it sounds goofy but it works!

I can’t find anything on the box that tells me what the cocoa percentage is but they’re not bitter. They’re very smooth and practically melt in your mouth (as a truffle should!) at room temperature.

The foil bag that they’re packaged in is not resealable so we put it inside a recloseable plastic bag to help keep them fresh.

If you crave a rich chocolate treat make sure you pick up a box next time you get a chance!

I’ve seen these. I’ll have to try them.

The Whole Foods by me used to have a fresh truffle counter but they recently got rid of it. It was a sad moment!

Nikki – they are heaven in a little box! If you get the chance to try some, do!

Hillary – a truffle counter?? Oh my! I’d be in big trouble :D

These truffles are hands-down the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted…and that’s from a chocoholic! :)

i simply adore these and was recently thinking about what a potentially luxe party or wedding reception treat this would make placed around tables in darling little metallic mini-pastry cups and sprinkled with a little something unexpected and special like an artful dash of kosher or sea salt (which i actually tried as i was dreaming about my next party and my-oh-my, what a fabulous combination, indeed! of course, you’d want to place little cards telling guests what everything is, as not everyone likes to be caught offguard when it comes to mystery items of a gastronomical nature! hehe)

    just a thought…..

I absolutely LOVE this! Although it has very high calories (3 truffles for like 280 cals), I had like half pack of it this afternoon. This is irresistible!

I love these truffles– they are sooo delicious!
three truffles have 170 calories in them.

I was looking at these truffles because I would like to duplicate the Hershey’s kisses-on-a-peanutbutter-cookie recipe with an organic milk chocolate topper.

Haven’t found organic chocolate kisses…any suggestions?
