Wordy Wednesday: My Chocolate Drawer

I feel like an addict showing off my stash with this picture! That’s probably not too far off the mark, though!

This is my chocolate drawer. We moved into this house six months ago and had more drawers and cupboard space in the kitchen than we’d had at our last house, and while unpacking I just stuck my treats and chocolate in this drawer to get them out of the way and that’s where they’ve stayed. It’s a step up from the box stuffed into a cupboard that I used at the last place! If we ever need the drawer these’ll get shuffled off to a different spot but it works for now.
Anyway, this is the stuff that’s “mom’s and dad’s only” — the kids’ treats are in a cupboard and handed out sparingly as a special snack, etc, now and then. Some of the stuff in the picture are things I’ve gotten for reviews, some have been given to me and some are just treats I’ve picked up here and there at the grocery store to try out (or from my favorite place ever, World Market).
I’m not terribly picky either, as you can see. When I want just a quick chocolate snack and don’t care where it comes from I’ve got the Hershey’s or Chex Mix Dark Chocolate, but if I’m really needing some good chocolate I’ve got the good stuff tucked up into the corner. This is also where the seasonal treats that I end up buying weeks in advance and open anyway end up (don’t tell the kids).
What does your chocolate stash look like?

Mine would definitely not look like that by the end of the day. hehe. Man I want to visit your drawer. Some of that looks interested, what are those in the can? Happy WW, I have mine up at Babylune.
I need a very wide angle lens to photograph my stash!
Where did you get the Pocket Coffee?
Hi Eliza! There are some days where I could totally rip through the whole drawer but thankfully those are few and far between
Happy WW!
Hi Cybele! International Food Market opened up here not too long ago and my husband and I went and explored it a couple of weeks ago. Found the Pocket Coffee in the checkout and had to snatch it up!
Oooooh! I have one of those – but yours looks lovelier than mine!
I can’t imagine why I’ve never thought of doing this… all my chocolate in one place. Is this an eating or a baking and cooking stash? Or both? I love this so much I’m going to put together a box (and keep it really well hidden….)
Wow!!! That drawer looks very tempting!
I do have a stash and I agree that parents should get some thing that they don’t have to share. Kids get things for themselves all of the time but don’t think a bit about scarfing my stuff, so I had to institute a rule. Nice to konw I’m not the only one.
I almost died when I saw your stash–it looks almost exactly like the top drawer in my buffet, only my drawer is wider and holds more!! I have both my personal stash in there as well as my “baking” chocolate. Oh, and one more stash–in the table next to my side of the bed!!
Hi Kim and Cinabar! Thank you
Hi Jill! This drawer is just for eating
Chocolate chips are kept in the freezer and the baking bars are in the cupboard with my flour and sugar, etc.
Hi Diana! You’re definitely not alone. I know my sister has a stash drawer that’s just for her and her husband too
Hi Jane! If I could get the drawer in my nightstand open I would totally have a mini-stash there too! It would be divine to have a little treat while reading before bed
I LOVE THIS PHOTO SOOO MUCH – iM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A CHOCO-BIN/ DRAWER! I laughed cuz this looks so much like mine- i have one of those big plastic storage bins FULL of choc, all wrapped for freshness and I love how you too have everything from Hershey to Patric- you are also an “equal opportunity” chocolatarian like me! so cool! Tghank you for sharing and NO its not a bad addiction at all- our ’stash’ is sacred and one of life’s tru joys- we just cant eat it all and need to know we always have a choc fix available anytime!
Many choco blessings
Mmmmmmm. That looks yummmy! Unfortunately, I don’t have a chocolate stash. Care to share the Ghiradelli?
