If you are a fan of baked apples, these little pans may interest you.  Able to go directly from the oven to the table, each Apple Baker is about 4 1/2 inches across, big enough to hold some decadent sauce and ice cream too!

Just core your apple and stick it on the probe, which will help to bake it faster by heating it from the inside.  About $13 each, with a porcelain finish.

Or like me, you can be cheap and get the microwave ones for $1.50. Not that I do baked apples often, but when a grumpy father wants one, it is easy to toss into the microwave rather than in the oven. Just if you use maple syrup, put it on afterwards.

Yeah, but these are prettier ;-)

When the need for speed hits, though, nothing compares to the microwave.

My wife’s the one who likes pretty. More than once she has told me that I am too “industrial”. :)
