Hot August Nights in Reno

What do you get when you cross classic rock & roll with classic cars? Come to Reno, Nevada and find out during the Hot August Nights celebration, running through August 12th, 2007.
The week long celebration originally began as a way to fill a void in Reno tourism during the stifling heat of August, along with raising money for some local charities. The Biggest Little City in the World decided to evoke the nostalgia of the 50’s and 60’s, a chance to re-live the “Happy Days” of our youth. And for those too young for that era, it gives them a chance to see, feel, and experience what the rest of us are talking about.
You’ll hears lots of music (many of the concerts are free), see lots of cherry cars, and can walk down the street hand in hand with your sweetheart. There’s even a Prom night, and with a little luck you can sneak out for a little make out session during a break.
Events are held at a variety of venues, and while you won’t be able to miss knowing were most of them are, I’d recommend check the schedule of events so that you don’t miss any of the favorites.
Reno is HOT in August with temperatures well into the 90’s, but the nights cool of dramatically. Comfortable walking shoes and a sweater/jacket for evening is recommended. Poodle skirts aren’t required!
