Passport The deadline has passed; the suspension is over.  New passport rules are now fully in effect, as mandated by the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.

U.S citizens who travel by air to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean must have a passport, or other approved travel documents, to enter or depart the country.

The passport requirement when traveling by land or sea will go into effect in 2009.

  1. Yes, I’ve seen the new ones and they’re awesome! The pages have great colorful background images, the covers have an embedded microchip, and the ID has the picture printed on it directly, as opposed to it being glued and laminated. Sure, better security, but it also ups your coolness factor.

  2. Thanks for stopping by Cesar!

My passport doesn’t expire for another couple of years, so it will be awhile before I get one of the new shiny ones.
