Photo Friday: Phoenix Palm Trees All Lit Up

March 13, 2009 by Mary Jo Manzanares

On Fridays, many of my travel blogging friends join together for Photo Friday, a collection of photos taken from their travels.

My participation in today’s Photo Friday is this photo taken during the Christmas season in Arizona.  Taken looking down the street just outside the Scottsdale Mall.  The street was lined with palm trees, brightly decorated with holiday lights.

Photo Friday is hosted by Debbie Dubrow who blogs at Delicious Baby.  Please take a few minutes to venture over there to take a look at what everyone is sharing today.  I love looking at all the travel photos!

Hmm. Doesn’t quite get me into the Christmas spirit but it MUST have been quite a sight!

  2. It almost looks like a palm tree menorah — but there are too many trees. I bet it was so pretty, though!

It was pretty seeing the everything lit up and lining the street, and it made for a fun atmosphere while shopping. It got me into a fun spirit, just not necessarily the holiday spirit.

  4. Dominique says:

I don’t always like it when they wrap tree trunks this way, but the effect looks kind of cool here the way the palm trees are in a straight line.

  5. Love lights on the palm trees…I wish they had put them on the trees too!

  6. Linda says:

Although it’s a different effect than on a pine tree, I still don’t like the look of those LED lights. I’m afraid I’m going to be bah-humbug about Christmas lights altogether when those are our only choice.

    Neat picture, though!

  7. What a beautiful shot! I used to love seeing the palm trees all “wrapped” when I lived in Orange County.
