If you enjoy a nice beach resort, you’ll enjoy today’s Matchbook Monday – the Grand Bay Hotel at Isla Navidad Resort in Manzanillo, Mexico.
I came across this matchbook while doing a little cleaning around the house, and it reminded be (quite fondly) of my stay there a few years ago.
The hotel is on a private island about 35 miles from the Manzanillo airport. The drive there takes you through lush forests and vegetation – a very green part of the country.

I came across this matchbook while doing a little cleaning around the house, and it reminded be (quite fondly) of my stay there a few years ago.

The hotel is on a private island about 35 miles from the Manzanillo airport. The drive there takes you through lush forests and vegetation – a very green part of the country.

This is a AAA four diamond hotel, and is beautiful both in its spacious rooms and in its location. Room views are either of the marina, the private lagoon, or the Pacific Ocean. I would spend most mornings having coffee on the balcony, and end the day there with a nightcap before turning in for bed.

A water taxi is available from the marina to take you to the neighboring town of Barra Navidad. It’s about a 3 minute ride, costs about $2 round trip, and operates regularly.

This is a wonderful luxury hotel, and thinking about it reminds me that it’s time to pay a visit once again. . . and provide you with a proper (current) review.

Do you have matchbooks lying around the house, collected in a jar, or in the bottom of a drawer? Please share them with our readers. Take a photo and email it to me for inclusion in a future Matchbook Monday. Please put “matchbook Monday” in the subject line.
