Here’s another matchbook that’s a blast from the past, as so many seem to be. This one is from the old Tacoma Sheraton Hotel, in Tacoma, Washington.
I remember when this hotel opened. It was the most luxurious hotel in Tacoma, had a great fine dining restaurant (I believe it was Italian), and since it was adjacent to the Bicentennial Pavilion, it catered to a lot of business and convention travelers. I stayed there frequently after special events, planning to stay rather than drive, after a night of indulgence.

A Matchbook Monday from a little closer to my home, this week, with the Emerald Queen Casino.
The Emerald Queen is operated by the Puyallup Indian Tribe, and is one of the largest in the state. When the Emerald Queen originally opened in 1997 it was on an authentic paddlewheel riverboat (called the Emerald Queen) berthed in the Port of Tacoma. The Emerald Queen developed its reputation of a total entertainment venue, offering a restaurant, buffet, nightclub, and location for headline entertainment and boxing matches.
