]]> I’m hunkered down in my hotel room right now after a wonderful day of exploring.  I enjoy wandering down one street and up the other, poking my head into shops that look interesting.

Many times today I stopped to ask people on the street if they were local, as I attempt to wend my way back to the hotel.  I like to ask for restaurant and/or bar recommendations, trusting locals to point me in the right direction.

However, I’m not sure that I could trust the locals as much as Andrew Zimmern does!

As he serves up the second season of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern (starting September 9th), he starts in Phuket, Thailand with a bit more of an adventurous meal that I wound up with today.

Anyone for a little giant sea snail?

]]> Premiering Thursday, April 24th, is All-Girl Getaways, a new television show that is capitalizing on the popular travel trend of girlfriend travel — gal pals getting away from some quality bonding and travel.

The show tracks a different group of women every week, and includes groups of co-workers, friends, and family members as they plan and go on their own special girlfriend getaway.  Some of the trips:  a rodeo show, skiing Tahoe, and a trip to New York City.

You can catch the debut show on Fine Living TV Networks on Thursday, April 24th, at 9 pm Eastern.  After its debut the show will air on Wednesdays.  To find out where you can find the show in your city, check the website.  You can enter your zip code and get local viewing information.
