Wanted: Books for A Good Vacation Read

Despite spending a lot of time on the beach, by a pool, or on a patio during this summer vacation season, I’ve been reading a lot more non-fiction that pool-side books.
I’ve updated my reading list, and am now making a reading list for the fall travel season. With lots of travel plans this fall, I’m going to need to stock up on some good books to keep me company!
If you’ve got some good suggestions, please leave them in the comments.

One of my favorite travel books is Freya Stark’s “Valleys of the Assassins” about her adventures as a lone Western woman in Iran traveling in Iran in the 1930s– fascinating, exciting, very well-written. Another good one is “Cold Beer and Crocodiles” by Roff Smith, about his round-the-Australian-continent-by-bicycle experiences. You can find these and more great, place-based books on National Geographic Traveler’s Ultimate Travel Library: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/traveler/extras/travellibrary/library.html
Great suggestions, Marilyn! I’ve got them on my reading list!
