Hankering for Yarn

Another contest on b5

Oh my! A week or so ago, I wished a lovely fellow, ‘happy birthday’.  He had just turned 40. He smiled back at me, and said: ‘You could be my mother’!

Now, I have to preface this with the fact that he has Down’s syndrome and is utterly adorable, and has the sunniest disposition on the face of the earth with an incredible innocence thrown in. He tells it like he sees it.

BUT… holyhonkinhaleuiah! I know that ~technically~ according to the way nature works, and yes, in some parts of the world, I ~could~ be his mother….

But, oh oh oh…. what a shocker to have a 40 year old think that! Mercy!

(Actually, lots of people ask me, on a regular basis, if I ~would~ be their mother, including people who are older than me).  But, boy oh boy did I ever feel like reality had just gone thump thump thump on my noggin with the

‘you could be my mother’  declaration.

I need help.

So, when I saw that  Sasha has a contest running on her blog that offers up a scrumptious basket of potions for faces in need of tlc, I jumped up and down and shrieked:

P I C K     M E !!!!!!!!   I look like I could be the mother of a 40 year old!   P U H L E E E Z E Pick me!

( Kinda like when I arrived at the Knit and Crochet conference last summer, after having travelled for about 18 hours, and feeling like it had been 18 weeks. A lady looked at me in shock and horror and blurted out: You sure don’t look like your pictures!)   Like I said: I need to win this contest!

Anyhow… the contest is at Sasha’s site and it’s for yummy stuff. Here’s the link: Beautiful stuff contest

Please don’t win it.

I need to.

Sasha says that we need to share a personal beauty regime. At this point, it’s gazing in the mirror, and holding up a sign saying: Send help!
