Another Terrific Tatting Book and oh yay!

Yesterday, I posted pics of an improvised drying rack for hanging tatting shuttles after I have varnished them.
Lynn posted a comment saying that she uses a pasta drying rack for drying her lace bobbins.
I thought that this was a great idea, and filed it away in the- hmmmm… ‘clever… file’….

When we dropped in on a garage sale,
I spotted a wire basket
that gave me an aha moment…..
I thought…
it’s not a pasta dryer
but ….
this will work
BEAUTIFULLY
for drying the tatting shuttles.
So, that’s my ‘yay’ for the day.
And, now, there’s another totally excellent book that I want to give the thumbs up to….

‘Tatting with Visual Patterns’
by Mary Konior
published by
Lacis Publications,
Berkeley, CA,
is a real keeper.
The projects are
presented with
precise text instructions,
as well as clear
and meticulous charts,
AND are photographed
beautifully in full color.
The book is full of excellent hints, tips and guidance for tatters of all skill levels.
I highly recommend ‘Tatting With Visual Patterns’, as it’s a storehouse of information and is timeless in it’s approach.
Very good stuff, indeed. Gold star for this one!

Your basket looks like it is working well, and much prettier than my pasta rack! The shuttles look like ornaments on it.
Thanks so much, Lynn!

Please take a bow, as your comment about your pasta rack (give it a happy little pat for me) was what triggered my ‘what else would work well for hanging the shuttles’ thought process!
So, I really appreciate it!
And, I like the way they look on the basket, so I am going to leave them on there until they sell- it’s a great way of seeing what I need to head out to the workshop and get carving on!
I also really like that the back of the basket is flat, so it snugs up against the wall, so, it could even be hung on the wall when I am not drying shuttles on it.
Thanks again- I sure appreciate your input!
