A Game of Tag

One of my crochet buddies, Vashti, just tagged me, so it’s time to tag along! I started by tagging my cat….. who finds this basket – no matter where I move it in the studio, and curls up and sleeps in it: Here are the rules of the game: “Each person tagged gives seven random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs seven facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and need to read your blog.” Seven random facts about me: 1: I love making lists. 2: One of my favorite ways of listmaking allows me to get to sleep at night,... [Read more]

life is busy

If you’ve read my profile or my first post here, you know how many things I do.  I’m an artist, a designer and a puppeteer.  I love what I do and try to do the best job I possibly can. Part of doing the best job I can do is realizing my limits.  I’ve had a blast writing this blog, but my life is simply too busy now to do justice to this blog and to b5 media. Yes, I realize that’s not a large demographic – but these are such great photos that I had to post them. Cakeyvoice has knitted the entire cast of George Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead“… and then re-enacted the movie here. Now, if that’s not ambitious enough, here’s “Shaun of the Dead“, knitted of course! Not for the sqeamish, but very funny… if you like that kind of thing. [Read more]

Well, first of all, my website server & email are back up and running!  If you emailed my between Thursday and this morning and haven’t received a reply, please re-send your message. Now to the real post…. Crafting for a cause: I enjoy creating for creating’s sake, but there is a lot of good that we can do in the world with something we enjoy. How about donating preemie hats & booties to a local hospital? Knitting or crocheting “Izzy” dolls that are given out overseas by our troops? Making blankets or sleeping bags for your local homeless shelter? Or, like this volunteer group – make lots of different things!  While you’re on their site check out the stitch sampler link at the bottom of the... [Read more]

this was supposed to be about raw silk…

I was going to write a post about the different things you can do with raw silk tussah or silk hankies… but since I can’t post photos – that would be kind of boring! So… I found something else interesting online.  Knitted, crocheted or woven iPod pockets & bags!  I love being able to use my own color preferences or styles, insted of what’s commercially available. Here’s a crocheted one: A knitted one in eyelash yarn: Knitted mittens with an iPod case built in: A spool-knitted cellphone case that doubles as an MP3 holder too: The silk post will come when I get my server back, until then, have fun! [Read more]
