Robyn Chachula (click her name for her website)
(aka Crochet by Faye) (click that last link for her blog) is one classy, clever woman who happens to be a very gifted crochet designer as well as a structural engineer.
Her gorgeous ‘Bubble Belt’ is part of the nifty Belts Book
that I also contributed to.
Robyn has come up with a totally fantastic way of doing linked tr crochet stitches. This eliminates gaps in tall stitches. It’s kind of like mini Tunisian! Way to go, Robyn!
And, thanks a million, Cristina, for giving me the heads up on Robyn’s vunderbar technique!

Hi there Noreen . . . you really opened up my eyes . . . I had only seen the tutorial, not all the wonderful designs Robyn has . . . brilliant !
As for the linked stitches, the next challenges is using them in a new design . . . any ideas?
Sincerely
CC

Robyn really is a genius, no doubt about that!
and, as for using linked stitches…. they are substitutable in all manner of patterns…. just make a swatch first to check your measurements
Swatches are good!
But WHY would I bother using treble?
In some pieces, you’ll want the extra height that the tr gives you. Linked stitches work just fine in dc, too…..

Hi there – now *that* I find very useful. I use DC in most plain items for my son (as boys don’t look good in fancy stitches), and the option for having a gap-free fabric for a winter cardigan is superb !
Yay!

Yay?
You crack me up

Yay, indeed! Who wants a holey sweater in the deep dark winter? brrrrrrr

Yay for cosy!
