Hankering for Yarn

crafting for a cause

Well, first of all, my website server & email are back up and running!  If you emailed my between Thursday and this morning and haven’t received a reply, please re-send your message.

Now to the real post….

Crafting for a cause: I enjoy creating for creating’s sake, but there is a lot of good that we can do in the world with something we enjoy.

How about donating preemie hats & booties to a local hospital?

Knitting or crocheting “Izzy” dolls that are given out overseas by our troops?

Making blankets or sleeping bags for your local homeless shelter?

Or, like this volunteer group – make lots of different things!  While you’re on their site check out the stitch sampler link at the bottom of the page, it’s fabulous!

Thanks for the links. Also, there’s this website called Soldier’s Angels, and one of their projects is to make blankets for wounded soldiers–these are given to the soldiers in hospitals, etc. After reading the quotations from some recipients, I can’t wait to send one.
