Darning socks

Yesterday, I wrote about my new (to me) vintage 2 inch Weave-it loom.
One of my favorite things to do with 2 inch weave-it looms is to fix my holey socks. After all, when you put all that effort into knitting socks, you want to rescue them when they get holey! So, whaddya gonna do? Oh, darn it, or, better still: Oh weave it!
The very first thing I did with my little Christmas Weave-it? I wove up a square of sock yarn with it,
popped the wooden circle from the ‘Darn it’ kit inside my sock,
and stitched the little woven square over the hole in my sock.
Sure beats darning! It’s really quick.
A few weeks back, I wrote about another vintage gadget my sister in law found for sock darning. I didn’t make progress with it at all. I really like the wooden circle that came with it for anchoring the sock, but the rest of it eluded me.
I’ll stick with Weave-its for fixing my sockies!
What’s your fave way of fixing your hand knitted socks?
