A Collection of the new Skullie Finger Puppets Spoolknitters that Jim and I have just finished…..

I am going to be hosting this month’s artist showcase for the arts and design channel of b5. This time, I am opening up the showcase to include other bloggers who would like to join us. The theme is: Halloween and Day of the Dead crafts.

If you have been doing some Halloween or Day of the Dead crafts, please feel free to join in!

Here’s how:

I will post the Caravan/Showcase on the 21st of October.

I’d like it to be up on the 21st so readers will have a chance to use patterns, etc for Halloween.

If you’d like to take part, please post the following information in a comment in this posting. I was going to do this as emails, but my email is really whacked right now, so it’s safer to do it through the comments section here.

In the comment, please give me:

1] Link:The Url for your Halloween/Day of the Dead posting.

2] Blurb: A short statement about your Halloween or Day of the Dead posting.

3] Let me know if it’s okay to use a pic of your project with your info in the carnival.

The deadline is the 19th of October, and I’ll have it put it all together and posted on the 21st .Thanks!

I really like the festive nature of the Day of the Dead celebration– it celebrates the lives of those important to us, instead of bogging us down in gloom and doom. I also have a couple of sweaters I made, but no pictures…. I used to enjoy Halloween a lot more when it was a “kids’ holiday”– and a time to try out being heros and magical beings for a few hours while collecting pillowcases full of candy and homemade treats… now, of course, the “dark side” has taken over that, too: home-made treats are forbidden, and few parents let their littles out and about at night to gather tooth-rotting goodies….

You’re welcome to use any of the images– if you can’t capture them from the blog, I can send you the pictures as an e-mail attachment. I don’t have any of the pieces at home, so I can’t re-scan– three are in a gift shop, and the rest are already sold.

    Noreen,
I just love the skull spoolie with the cat’s eye glasses and the curl. It reminds me of the poem, There was a little girl
    who had a little curl
right in the middle of her forehead.
    When she was good,
    she was very very good
    and when she was bad
    she was horrid.
I love my skull spoolie. Of all the ones you’ve made me, it is the best. It is giving me the most creative ideas. But, I might have to get the one with the glasses. I will email you and let you know.
    Wendy

    Hallo Wendy
I am also having a wonderful time with the wild and woolie skullie spoolies! I am working on a really fun necklace right now, and will be posting a tutorial on how to make it.

I love the cat’s eye glasses spoolie, too…. she is just so much fun!
She’s thrilled that you have considered adopting her….. which is making the rest of her syblings jealous! I’m watching them carefully to be sure they don’t turn green.

It takes longer to get your costume and props together than you think! Here are some ideas to get it together even at this late date.
