Inspiration – Papier Couture

I grew up making paper dolls and all their accessories and accouterments, so was delighted to see that that was an influence on Lia Griffiths, who is doing fabulous things with paper.
Her website is REALLY wonderful….. it’s Papier Couture and she and her design partner, Sean Moran, are making art dresses and accessories that are truly glorious!

This brings back wonderful memories of my Mom helping me make paper dolls. I loved making paper dolls. Though the most elaborate set I made I gave away when my Girl Scout troop visited an orphanage. I also made and remade cardboard dollhouses and furniture.
Thanks for bringing this 40+ year memory to mind. Maybe I will get my cardboard and tissue paper (and my Fun with Paper Dolls book) and make a few. And with today’s technology, I could photoshop family pictures, and make dolls for the whole family.
Thanks as always for the inspiration.

    Hi Wendy,
Me too! I just loved making my own paper dolls when I was a youngster. That love has stayed with me, and now I make ‘paper dolls’ from wood.
Have a wonderful time making your family paper dolls!
