Carol Ventura has been researching tapestry crochet for decades. She writes wonderful books about it, and teaches and travels and explores and expands it.
On her blog recently, she wrote about a fantastically gifted young artist, Stacey Glasgow aka Sriyana who crochets tapestry crochet mandalas.
Truly wonderful! Here’s the link: Tapestry crochet

Thanks for posting this, Noreen!
Your work is breathtakingly gorgeous, Sriyana!
Thank you!
May I ask you a question please. I am trying to find out if Paternayan Persian Yarn is still being manufactured and also if it is sold in stores? As you might appreciate, it is more fun to actually pick out your colors in person when beginning a project. I’ve found a few people on line selling the yarn but cannot seem to find a actual retailer. I live in Southern California. I want to get back into Bargello stitching and that is the yarn my book calls for. Can you offer any assistance, please.
I thank you in advance for your help.
Sue
Sue,
I searched Google and found this page of CA
store listings. You may want to email one of these shop owners in your area and ask them about the Persian wool.

Then there’s:

This shop definitely seems to carry your yarn. She’s not really nearby, but may be able to recommend another closer source.
Good luck!
