Recently, I mailed a crochet hook that I had carved to England. It’s an homage to Jane Austen, and Carolyn won her in The Faces Of Joy Challenge.

I asked Carolyn to please take some pictures of the Jane Austen hook when it arrived in England. I was delighted that Jane Austen was going home, and looked forward to seeing the hook in England.
WELL!
I was completely awestruck and enchanted when Carolyn sent me photos of Jane Austen REALLY going home!
Carolyn made a trip to Chawton, just so she could take pictures of the Homage to Jane Austen hook ‘at home’ in Jane Austen’s village and at her house.
AT JANE AUSTEN”S HOUSE! oh my goodness!
I have to share these enchanting photos with you: They are used with Carolyn’s permission and she holds copyright on all of them:

Jane Austen's house

There she is! At Jane Austen's house! eeeeeeeeeee!

Ah, which way?

Carolyn and Jane Austen relax with a little crocheting

Well, Jane Austen, you have gone home!
Sigh, someday, I would love to go see Jane Austen’s house, too…… sigh….
(Thank you so much, Carolyn! The pics are WONDERFUL!)

Oh, I have sat on that bench! I’ve been in that garden! How lovely that such a neat crochet hook got to go to Austen’s last home! I think I need to go check out what you have for crochet hooks now…..
Hi Lynn
Omigosh, how lovely for you! I’m envious!
Sorry, right now, I don’t have any hooks up on my website….
I do have one Jane Austen spool knitter up though at

I saw that, and I am sorely tempted, I have to say! I’m not sure I can justify buying it just for myself. But we’ll see…. It’s lovely. And I have a thing for spool knitting, too. I have a rug kit my mom gave me that she had bought years ago and never did anything with (supposed to be knitted just in stockinette, so the edges curl in and make the cording kind of rounded – I was going to make I cord. But I could spool knit it….).
Hi Lynn
Your kit sounds like a lot of fun! And, how neat to have so many options in how you will make it
