Lovely Christmas gift

I was bowled over yesterday when a box arrived from my friend, Wendy, in New York.
About a month ago, I wrote a note about the Rwanda knits charity auction. I mentioned that Caron yarns had commissioned the stockings, and was auctioning them off in support of the Rwanda knits charity (great charity). I was honoured and delighted that my work was going to help support the Rwanda knits group. (I also wanted people to know that I, as the designer and maker of the stockings, did not receive any part of the auction funds, so I wasn’t promoting it out of selfish motives.)
As a designer, you get used to yarn companies, some book publishers and magazines keeping the things you design and make. Still, sometimes it’s hard to pack things up, and never see them again.
So….. to open the box from Wendy, and see in it:
The Christmas stockings from the auction!
Wendy and her husband won the auction because they felt that Jim and I should have them! Weep weep sniff sniff!
AND Wendy took the most adorable card to the NY city crochet guild meeting and got the gang to all sign it!
WOW!
and!
she sent along some utterly delicious tea (Yummy!)
and
a card that has a pic of a kitten that looks like what our Siamese Queen must have looked like when she was a princess…..
what a box of kindness, and generosity and love!
Okay, I have to go get a hanky.
I am leaking all over my keyboard………..
thank you
thank you thank you Wendy and Larry….
I am so blessed to have such friends!
hugs and sniffs all round……..

Not only are you blessed to have such friends–you deserve to have such friends. Your notes to me when I post a comment have put straight into my heart. I feel profoundly blessed to have such lovely friends in my life. To meet and connect with beautiful, loving souls is a huge gift that makes my heart soar!
I really enjoyed meeting you last summer. I have applied to teach at the Knit and Crochet shows next summer, so perhaps we’ll have a chance to meet again!
Wishing you joy and peace and creativity unbounded in 2008!
Larry and I like to surprise people who have made a difference in our lives. And certainly your generosity in giving your beautiful dolls away (and my having won one of them) made us feel we had to do something extra special for you and Jim. Have a wonderful Christmas!
Wendy
Oh, Wendy and Larry, this was such an unexpected and generous act of kindness!
Thank you thank you!
big hugs
