Hankering for Yarn

Mardi Gras Mask-2

In my last posting, I showed how I made the template for my Mardi Gras mask.

I decided to use 1/4 inch plywood for the foundation of the mask, as I couldn’t find a piece of white cardstock.

I traced the template onto the plywood, cut it out, drilled holes, sanded, filed and sanded some more:

Originally, I had thought that I would like white thread on the unpainted wood. But, I decided that painting it a darker color would make the spool knitting, crochet and tatting show up better.

So, I got out my favorite irridescent blue acrylic paint:

ooooh like that!

Time for a break while I whip out the spool knitter and spool knit up some cord…….
