Hankering for Yarn

Mardi Gras Mask-3

I cut the mask out of plywood and painted it, then I spool knitted up a couple of feet of cord, using 2 strands of #50 crochet cotton held together.

I stitched through the holes I had drilled, picking up beads, as I attached the spool knitted cord to the mask:

This was a rather slow process, and was rather meditative.

I forgot to mention that, before I painted the mask,I did some embossing on the mask to give myself some guidelines. You can see them on the lower half of the mask.

Last summer, I tatted some lace for my daughter in law’s wedding shawl. The piece that’s in the photo in the link didn’t work for her shawl, so I knew I had it somewhere in the studio.

Ah, another search of the studio ……

Oh my! I am having server problems! the server keeps eating my entry, and it’s a bit nerve wracking! Fingers crossed that I can get the rest of this uploaded!
