Hankering for Yarn

Mardi Gras Mask-4

In part 3, I got the spool knitted cord stitched to the mask.

I started crocheting over the surface of the mask, and hated it. I pulled it all out without even photographing it.

After a big search through the studio, I found the piece of tatting that I did last summer for my ‘belle fille’ (daughter in law)’s wedding shawl.  It didn’t work for the shawl, but, is perfect for the mask. (BTW, I did do tatting that WAS perfect for the shawl – sometimes it takes me a few runs at things before I get them right).

I stitched the tatting to the mask, and glued on some cabachons and more beads:

By this time, it was 1 in the morning, so I needed to stop.

I also wanted to think and dream on how I was going to include crochet in the mask.  (My plan for the mask had been to include spool knitting, tatting and crochet in it, so I had ticked 2 of the boxes. Need to mull on the 3rd box!)
