I also have taken some old wool sweaters that are large and cut off the neck, arms and the bottom about 12 inches. then I crochet around the neck and bottom and pick up the stiches and knit a turtle neck at the top and do a few rows at the bottom. makes nice capes Yes the economy has stopped me from buying and just using up my stash. between the gas and prices skyrocketing up in everything I can’t afford it.
