Hankering for Yarn

Sacred textiles 3

Last night, I had a weaving wobble.

This morning, I got up and got out my wonderful cradle loom from the Vesterheim Museum. It’s absolutely marvelous.

The only problem is that it doesn’t come with a heddle.

I googled to find out who sells heddles that will fit it and found this: rigid heddle

and:

Harrisville looms replacement rigid heddle 7inch size

I took my handful of cut yarn and warped up the cradle loom and started weaving….

But I wasn’t happy with it, because it was too wide….

so I got out my graph paper and started re-drafting it

‘White out’ is my friend!

Okay, time to warp the loom again, and weave the narrower band……

there….. I like the narrower band better….

I’m not there yet…. will be warping the inkle -

the BIG inkle (not the little busted one!)

and starting again, and the next one will be much tidier………
