The September hankeringforyarn contest is over……
The doll was won by Wendy Penner. Congratulations, Wendy!
I had to laugh…. Wendy won, I think, by sheer persistence! She entered ~a lot~ of times – and it worked! LOL!
What was the prize?
A one of a kind art doll that I designed for my book:
‘Creative Crocheted dolls’
Her hair, face, hands, feet and wings are painted watercolor paper. I spun the yarn for her body. Her joints are vintage buttons. She still has the code number tag that I attached to her back for the photo session for the book.
She doesn’t have a name yet. That’s up to Wendy…..
hugs all round,
Noreen

She’s adorable!
Oh, Noreen–I wuv the doll–would love to give her a good home. Kesam

What a cute doll. You’re amazing…what adorable creations you come up with.
Hi Noreen,
What a gift you have…She’s beautiful!
I just created my first doll using your book as inspiration. I can just imagine how I would be inspired if I actually had one of your dolls!
She is enchanting! And how cool that she has had a photo shoot! I think she really wants to come and hover in my den in Georgia.
NOREEN, MY DEAR, WOULDN’T SHE MAKE A NICE COMPANION FOR MY DEAR NOREEN DOLL – THEY COULD HAVE TEA TOGETHER AND TALK AND THEN THEY COULD PLAY WITH THE SPOOLIE!!!! I WOULD BE VERY HAPPY TO BE CHOSEN AGAIN!! VERY HAPPY!!! HUGS AND BLESSINGS, MARIANNE
Oh sigh… she is exquisite!
Noreen,
Wow a button lady with wings!
I would call her Namaste, which means something like “I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Truth, of Light and of Peace,” the “God in you.” She is a beautiful messenger!
Oooh she is very nice!! Throw my name in the hat!
I have a question for you.. what do you know about the TKGA Committee on Loom Knitting?
Thanks!!
Noreen,
You should be declared “one of the seven wonders” of the yarn world. You bring beautiful creations to life.
Wendy
Very beautiful! She would look lovely sitting on my shelf!
Congratulations!
Wendy
OOOOOOOOOh! I’m hankering for that beautiful doll. Got legs and fingers crossed.

I watercolor so I really enjoyed your use of watercolor with yarn and doll making! It is surprising and delightful, and inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. B*B, Ysabeau
I just ran across your site & joined. I love your creations!!! I hope to order a book and try my hand at one.
Thanks!!!!
Oh my daughter and I are in love.
If we don’t win the doll, I am going tohave to figure out how to make one like her. My 6yo thinks she and all her cousins ought to have one.
Your doll is so lovely.
Thank you for having the contest and for letting us enter (I say us because I am entering but if I win then my daughter gets the doll–lol)
She is wonderful!!!!!
Please, put my name in the hat.
Thank you.
Noreen,
I recently saw your book in our local library. As a relatively new crocheter I was thrilled to see what I could do with my newly-learned skill. After all, there’s only so many afghans that one can knit. I went home and immediately ordered the book. In the meantime, I have the library book which I have been salivating over. Thank goodness it’s the library’s book. LOL I do have question. I have tried unsuccesfully to locate the website for CGOA Presents. Is that yarn available from elsewhere? Or is there a list of comparable yarns listed somewhere? Can’t wait to try my hand at making my own doll. I’d sure love to have one made my the originator of this idea. Thanks, Judy Streger
Hi Judy
) Noreen
Sadly, CGOA Presents yarns are no longer available. Sock yarns and Patons Grace are good substitutes for the thinner yarns. Hope you will enjoy the book!
Please put me in there. It’s funny, I’ve been planning a doll for a few days. Knitting isn’t too fun when it’s 90 degrees.
Thanks,
Maenwyn
This doll is wonderful. She is a real keepsake.
Thanks,
Mary
I love her! You have combined various elements so well. I would be honored to give her a home.
Teresa
Noreen,
Please enter me again for your most wonderful doll! She would have a lovely home with me and my dolls or with my mother.
Wendy
Noreen,
Enter me again to win this lovely doll. I will put my thinking hat on (which is brown, green & yellow–a tree in the summer growing straight and tall in the sunlight–bringing shade and comfort and a home for birds and squirrels) and try to come up with a name for her. Wendy
She is beautiful! I would love to gift her to my mother in law. She collects angels and what a beautiful angel she is!
Noreen,
Please enter me again to win this lovely doll. I Know a few people who need an angel looking over them.
Wendy
My son would love this “‘ed doe-woo.” Those /l/ sounds are difficult at 2.5 yrs. You can see his picture on my neglected website
Very cute doll. Thanks for sharing her. I’ll look for your book at the Library. I’m sure I can make one for the boy out of scraps, great use for them. Too cute. loraine (from Y! Wool Soakers Group)
Noreen…I was sent to your site by Denise…Knitting Without Needles. Let me say right now, You Are A Treasure! I love all your whimsical creations! The joy you experience in creating each one shines through in every project. Keep Crafting!
Noreen,
She is beautiful and I really could use an angel right now.
