Sister Bear: So many ways to make a teddy bear

Teddy bears are the embodiment of love.
There is so much pleasure in the making of bears.
I’ve been thinking a lot about ‘Sister bears’ (please scroll down through the blog to read more about ‘Sister Bears’)
and thinking that it would be wonderful to make the bear from scratch before starting the Sister Bear exchanging…..
A ‘Sister Bear’ is a wonderful ritual of the heart that is a lovely and loving way to comfort, heal, celebrate and remember……
I have designed a ton of different ways of making bears.
I weave them on Potholder Looms:

I’ve designed many different teddies for the Potholder Loom, but this little guy came from this book:

I also love making teddies with the spoolknitter, and my friend Christina is waiting to see if I can live up to my promise of spoolknitting a teddy bear with baler twine.
Of course I can!
A teddy is a teddy, no matter what you use to make him or her, and using something reclaimed is a great idea!
So, when you make a ‘Sister Bear’ for your sister by birth or sister of the heart, think outside the box!

Tick tock, I am still waiting and watching for my amazing friend to make magic out of my nemesis.
Aha! I have taken up the challenge, Christina!
and have written an entry, just for you! LOL!
