Small looms I love- Peggetty loom-mending socks

One of my most favorite looms ever is a little loom that I designed and wrote a book of charming designs for.
It’s the Peggetty Loom.
It’s a delightful little loom, and I offer several ways of making it for yourself…. so it’s one of the cheap and cheerful options for small loom weaving.
I have been chatting with a lady on Ravelry about using small looms to mend socks.
She doesn’t have a Weave-it Loom and hasn’t been able to get a 2 inch Weavette loom , as they are back ordered.
I’ve come up with a couple of alternatives to weaving patches to mend your socks…..
With the Peggetty loom set up to weave a 2 inch square:
Warp the loom, wrap the pegs 4 /2 times with the sock yarn…
and weave the square
Pop a lightbulb into your sock and twist a rubber band around it a couple of times to hold the sock in place.
Place the woven square over the hole
And stitch it to the sock. It’s fast, it’s easy. Yay!
The dolls and dollhouse rugs in the pictures were all woven on the Peggetty Loom. (They’re all my original design and are copyright. The instructions on how to make them are all in the Peggetty Loom book)

Thank you so much for the help!
You are so welcome, Deneen!
I appreciate getting the heads up from you on the unavailability of the 2 inch square Weavette loom.
Do you know a service that mends socks?
No, sorry, I don’t….. but it’s really easy to learn how to weave the little squares and then you’ll be able to fix all those holes that are waiting to pop up in future socks!
