Studio in bloom

I love it when our Night Blooming Sirius blossoms. It’s unbelievably spectacular.

Night Blooming Sirius plants bloom around 10 o’clock at night, and you can see them opening. The perfume is spectacular. The blossom is HUGE!  Usually about 10 inches across….

And, it’s just for a few hours, and then, that’s it. It’s done.

sigh….

night-blooming-sirius-qs5.jpg It starts as a tiny bud on the side of a leaf

That takes a few weeks to get big, bigger, biggest

Until, one night….. it opens! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Dazzling!

and then, by morning…..

done.
