A few years ago, I bought a couple of neat vintage crochet books by the designer, Elizabeth Hiddleson.
Last weekend, I found 3 more of
her booklets at a garage sale.
The booklets have a specific look:
They are VERY black and white.
Hiddleson’s crocheted lace pieces
appear to have been laid on a photocopier
and photocopied.
Perhaps they were simply
placed on a black background
and photographed that way.
The 3 booklets that I found last week
were copyright 1979.
When I googled to see if I could find out more information about Elizabeth Hiddleson, I drew a blank.

Amie Hirtes is a fine ( nah, a GENIUS) designer….
One of her designs in particular just knocks me out of the water. It’s a blue top that is positively sculptural in the way she shapes the mathematical precision of the lace…. it’s on her blog and her site.
I also love the way Amie puts her hands on her hips and tells it like it is for her and the rest of us designers who are getting thrashed by folks who feels like it’s okay to steal intellectual property. Yay, Amie!
Here’s Amie’s blog
and her website

Mary Jane Hall is a delightful person and fantastic designer. She and I publish with the same publisher: Krause Books, so we are fellow travellers!
You’ll never meet a more upbeat, positive person. Mary Jane has combined her uplifting world view with her crochet design to create work that goes way beyond ‘everyday’ crochet.
Kate Pullen is running a series of interviews with Mary Jane.

One of the pleasures of belonging to the Crochet Guild of America is getting to meet other crochet designers (in person or online) )
Pam Gillette is one of my ‘designer buddies’ that I have connected with, thanks to our both being members of CGOA. She’s doing all kinds of neato designs in crochet -
Check out Pam’s work at her site
