How odd.
Even though the weather absolutely gorgeous today, I felt out of synch with the beauty of the day.
Today was a day of melancholy for me.
Perhaps it’s because it’s close to the anniversary of the death of one of my husband’s sisters.
Perhaps it’s because the other sisters have been here visiting and now they’ve gone home and I miss them.
Perhaps it’s because the project that I have been wrestling with for days is refusing to set itself to rights and is a disappointment.

Holey Socks? Oh darn it! A new way

Lots of people love knitting socks, then are afraid to wear them, in case they wear a hole in their special sockie.
If you’re ’saving’ your socks and not wearing them because of ‘hole-aphobia’, then fear no more!
I have worked out a way of darning socks that is based on using a pinboard loom.
It’s quick and easy and quite fun……

Small looms I love- Peggetty loom-mending socks

One of my most favorite looms ever is a little loom that I designed and wrote a book of charming designs for.
It’s the Peggetty Loom.
It’s a delightful little loom, and I offer several ways of making it for yourself…. so it’s one of the cheap and cheerful options for small loom weaving.
I have been chatting with a lady on Ravelry about using small looms to mend socks.
She doesn’t have a Weave-it Loom and hasn’t been able to get a 2 inch Weavette loom , as they are back ordered.
