ahhhhhhhhhh! Tatting is such a delight.
I drove myself nuts trying to learn it from a book, but a couple of minutes with a ‘real’ tatter, and I was off and running.
I always carry a tatting shuttle and thread in my bag, so I can tat if I have a moment to spare (in lineups, or waiting for whatever life has put on slow mode).
Thread tatting is great, as it takes no space at all, and can be worked into all manner of freeform garments and pieces:
This is the back of a freeform Tshirt that I made with tatting, weaving,spoolknitting and lots of crochet.
