Tatting shuttle ‘Little Bird’

I was intrigued by some tear drop tatting shuttles that I saw online.
So… of course…. I had to try making one.
I wanted to see if they would be a shape that I would like to work with.
I tatted a pair of butterfly earrings with Coats Crochet Cotton.
And, Oh YES! I really like this shape of shuttle! It is really pleasing to work with.
As I was making it, I thought…. this looks like a little bird!
Well… one thing always leads to another for me…..
so…. of course!
I had to design and make a “Little Bird” Tatting shuttle:
I wasn’t sure if the shape would be okay for tatting, so ……
I tatted some butterfly earrings in Lion Brand’s Silver Lamé:
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my “Little Bird” tatting shuttle! It tats like a dream!
Miss Kitty obsessed about the Little Bird…. she kept trying to steal it!
She didn’t care about the other tatting shuttles that were scattered around the work bench…. and we had words about that!
She forgave me for taking the Little Bird tatting shuttle away from her and posed for a few pictures, wearing one of the earrings as a crown:

OH, you should sell your little bird tatting shuttle. It’s definately a collector’s item AND it’s fully functional. It’s adorable.
