HOW TO SPOOL KNIT A HAT FOR A VERY SMALL DOLL OR SNOWMAN CROCHET HOOK

First of all, start with a one of a kind, fabulous spool knitter.

Preferably, one of ours.

With sock yarn, spool knit  in rounds for 4 or 5 rounds.

Check to see if the hat is getting there….

Yep. Looking good. So, it’s time to start decreasing….

Lift a loop onto and adjacent peg, and then lift another loop onto another adjacent peg, leaving you with 3 loops.

Spool knit on these 3 pegs for 4 or 5 more rounds.

Then, lift a loop onto an adjacent peg,

And spool knit for 3 inches. Cut the yarn, take through both stitches. Pull the little hat out of the spool knitter, and fold the end over about an inch.  Stitch it to the hat, making a hanging loop at the top of the hat.

You’ll see why in the next posting.
