Oh stress, you suck my life away just… so.
Let me count the ways:
- You up my insulin resistance
- You raise my LDL levels of blood cholesterol (the bad stuff)
- You increase my blood platelet aggregation
- You increase my salt retention
- You up my cortisol output
- You increase nutrient excretion while decreasing nutrient absorption
- You lower my available oxygen supply
- You decrease my growth hormone production
- You lessen my kidney function
- And you mess with my lower esophageal sphincter function (gastric reflux/heartburn)
Don’t let this list stress you out. By far, the quickest way to break your body of this vicious crap is to have a laugh. (Or get a massage or grab some fresh air.) Time for you is important! For there won’t be any time for you at all, because you’ll be pushing up daisies.
