A New Way to Track Your Family’s Health History: MyFamilyHealth.com

Most of us know the importance of being familiar with our family’s health history. In fact, there is nary a doctor’s office visit where we’re not grilled on the diseases/afflictions that run through our gene pool.

But sometimes it’s hard to remember it all, and sometimes we just don’t know all there is to know about Gram and Gramps, right?

Well now there may be a viable solution: MyFamilyHealth.com.

From the company, here are some of the benefits:

  • MyFamilyHealth.com is the most advanced online family health history tracking tool and compliant with the latest recommendations from the US Department of Health and Human Services.
  • The site addresses the key problems of how to effectively gather, organize and analyze this information, making it easier than ever before.
  • It will cost nothing except your time.
  • You can create a rich, evolving and medically useful record with your family, for your family.
  • You’ll discover and learn about the health problems that run in your family, including conditions that might not otherwise be considered by your physician.
  • You’ll discover if you or your family members could benefit from specific diagnostic, genetic or screening tests.
  • You’re able to join an online community and share information with others who have the same health interests as you (coming soon).
  • You’ll help your physician to help you: share your family health history with your physician and receive better guidance to delay, improve or even prevent bad health.
  • You may import your family tree from genealogy sites like geni.com and ancestry.com.

Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? MyFamilyHealth.com states that they’re constantly looking to improve their website and value all feedback. If you give it a try, do let us know what you think.

I have an idea. dont send me unsolicited spam emails promoting the launch of your new site.

This comment is directed at the site myfamilyhealth, not at health bolt.

I got 2 emails from them spamming me. i never joined their lists or anything so I was pissed and will forever see them as spammers.

    Heya, Israel.:)

I’m surprised to hear you’d see the MyFamilyHealth folks as spammers. We get stuff from new sites/new products/story ideas constantly, and I would guess you do, too? In any case, I see it like this: we’re “the media” and part of a company’s M.O. is to get themselves in front of “the media” for exposure. If it’s not a product or service we think would benefit you readers, in the garbage it goes. Otherwise, I am grateful to share the stuff I would have never otherwise heard of with you guys.

So, long story short (or not), I guess that kind of thing just goes with the territory. If anything, take it as a compliment. ;)

    Have a great weekend!!

Liberty, I know what you mean. I don’t mean I was contacted by a PR with information. That part I get.

I mean I was illegally spammed. They didn’t use my contact form, they had my email address, I don’t give that out on my site so they must have purchased it from somewhere, without my permission and spammed me. I am well versed in email marketing and know when I am being spammed or not.

They sent me two of the same email, within minutes of each other.

  4. Liberty says:

Ah, I gotcha now, Israel. And I see what you mean. And yes, spammers suck.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a contact form on this site, so everyone and their brother just sends stuff to our emails. Wish we could change that… :(

  5. I really like this idea. It is very unique and interesting. I also think it would be a great help in predicting possible health problems I might encounter.
