Brain Hack – Learn 10% More Effectively With Smell Association

You learn stuff when you’re sleeping. You can learn 10.6% more effectively if you associate a smell with newly learned information and then expose yourself to the smell in your sleep. (Science, vol. 315, p. 1333)

So what’s this mean for you, young padawan? It means don’t forget the flowers when you’re gathering Red Bull and Chinese takeout for your next cram session. Keep them near you while you’re studying and then put them on your nightstand afterwards when you finally crash. It could mean the difference between a B and a C.

Who knows: maybe this is how silent-foreign-curve-destroyer does it…
