Can you do this with your body?
Neatorama has put together an interesting list of Things That Are (Almost) Impossible To Do With Your Body. Seems that 99.9999% of us cannot do any of the following…
- Raise One Eyebrow
- Lick Your Elbow
- Gleeking
- Twitch Your Nose
- Wiggle Your Ear
- Touch Your Chin or Nose with Your Tongue
- Sneeze with Your Eyes Open
- Tickle Yourself
- Draw The Number Six While Making Clockwise Circles With Your Leg
- Toot Your Own Horn
So are you one of the 0.0001% that can do this impossible body actions?

I had to google “gleeking” and I kinda wish I hadn’t. Why on earth is there a word for it if no one can do it? A mystery.
Great list though.
Hi, I’m new to reading this blog…I like it! Anyway, I’m able to do 1 (always), 3 (but not since high school), and 9 (left hand, right foot or vice-versa). I suspect drummers might be able to do #9.
Hi Crabby, I know what you mean about the ‘gleeking’. My question would be not ‘why can’t I?’ but ‘why in the world would I want to?’
It’s a strange world and I guess a talent is a talent!!!
Neatorama did a great job putting the list and explanations together.
Hi Jack and welcome to Healthbolt. Sounds like you part of the .0001% that has these unique talents.
So tell, why would you want to be able to ‘gleek’? Is it one of those simply, because I can sort of things…have to say (hope I don’t sound sexist here) it seems like a male thing to do.
I can wiggle my eyebrows independently
Would somebody please tell me what “tooting your own horn” is – it sounds a bit rude to me!!!
Hi Jo, ‘tooting your horn’ requires, how should I say this, quite a lot of flexibility…but I’m going to let the guys over at Neatorama explain it. So click on the link at the beginning of this post and all will be revealed.
Liz,
I’d say that gleeking would be something only teenage boys would be interested in mastering. As for why (at least for me and my friends), competition was the primary motivation (e.g. distance, volume, accuracy, etc.).
Since it was something my friends and I learned to do together, the statistics from the article might make you think we were a pretty rare group. Ah, but I’d suggest otherwise!
Hey Jack,
Thanks for explaining the need to gleek. Sounds like a male bonding ritual to me. Do you grow out of it?
