Bill

I have often wondered about the smoking section "down there" it's a scary thought. I have been quit 2 weeks and 1 day so far, and I actually feel the freedom I have been talking about. I still have urges every now and then but if I just remind myself that the urge will pass, and NOTHING is as bad as the first 3 days was, then I get past it pretty quick. I will also say this, I quit for 3 months one time, and I dreaded it so bad that everywhere I looked if I saw someone smoking, I almost cried, it was almost like an envy "how come they can smoke and I can't" I treated the whole thing like a punishment instead of a choice of freedom. I had nightmares about cigs, I have not had thoughs and the 2 I did have I barely remember. I am just not dwelling on it, this is my final quit and I thank God I am done with them, (He probally thanks me too) (grin)

Hi Connie,

I liked your observations about freedom too. But to many religious people (I'm not one of them BTW), heaven is only HALF of the story of eternity. So what if a smoker ends up in the OTHER place and gets directed to the smoking section? Ever been in one of those smoking areas in international airport terminals where the smoke is so thick you can get your nicotine hit just by inhaling? And if you stay in there more than 10 minutes you will have emphysema for sure! So imagine what the smoking-section-in-hell would be like?

Cheers...

Happy Holidays Paul!

Sounds like you're getting closer and closer to your quit. You have such a positive attitude too. As you said in your previous note, FREEDOM!!! Yes, it's like being free from some kind of torture that took over our lives. If you're smoking only five cigs a day, you're just about there. Good for you!

I wish you the best this holiday season and do hope you quit soon. Again, let me tell you about the benefits of quitting. I can breath deeply whenever I want, I can now walk without losing my breath, I smell pretty without having that terrible smoke smell. And people around me continue to boost my confidence. Something important to me too, I feel as though I added years to my life. And!!! I saved about $300 this month from not smoking. I can't find a negative thing to tell you about quitting.

God bless you my friend.

Thanks for the Holiday wishes Bill. I too wish you all a very happy Holiday season and a safe return home (if you are traveling).

I have not quit smoking yet but I am feeling much better, more confident, and I am smoking much less. Only 5 cigarettes today, which is much better than the 10 i was smoking just a couple of days ago. Each day i feel closer and closer to throwing my cigarettes away. I even like the anxiety if feel when i go without for a while, it reminds me i am alike....am i am more able to let it go.

Brick by brick, i am building. So keep up your quits everyone, and if you are not there keep building confidence. It is worth it, just ask Marilyn, who is exuding the benefits of not smoking. Can't wait to here how your holiday went with your family marilyn. That goes for the rest of you too!

It'll just click at some point. One piece of advice is to talk about it. Don't stop talking and give yourself moments to cry and be alone but don't isolate yourself. Excercise because it definitely helps. It's going to be two weeks since he left me and it's getting a bit easier. I have my moments where I just cry it out but that's what it has become - a moment. All of this is just a moment. I promise, it'll get better. Just remember as well that you need to love yourself before anything else and by not giving your body what you need is neglecting and forgetting that we also matter.

She text me when she was drunk on friday night then when i replied questioning it she told me not to bother.

For real.... I never would have thought I'd be google-ing how to get over a broken heart. Its kind of nice knowing you aren't the only one. This is so difficult....I'm dying. I'm 19 years old and have been in a relationship for 2 years. I feel so damn alone...This blows...I want to meet these other fish too...
