Next time you want to sound smarter than you are, casually insert this gem into a sentence, and watch your peers gasp in awe at your command of The English Language. They, struggling to comprehend what hath just dropped from your lips. You, gleefully imagining all of the mental gymnastics going on behind their collectively gaping maws as they try to reconcile this new mono-syllabic hulk, freshly put upon their ears: Is it some sort of comment on the so-labeled subject’s sexuality? Or perhaps the latest metallic finish to grace the pipes on something rolling out of a Fast and Furious wannabe’s garage?

No! You feeble minded herd! It’s anatomy! Anatomy! (!)

Heterochromia (a.k.a. heterochromia iridis or heterochromia iridium) An eye condition in which one iris is a different color from the other (complete heterochromia), or where part of one iris is a different color from the remainder (partial heterochromia or sectoral heterochromia). It’s a result of the relative excess, or lack, of pigment within an iris or part of an iris, which may be inherited or acquired by disease or injury.

  2. Iva says:

is there any treatment for condition as sectoral heterochromia iridis except of contact lents???

  3. EllieRae says:

I have complete hecterochromia in both eyes, and my eyes change color. My main color for the left eye is brown. My main color for my right eye is grey, or green. Sometimes it is blue. I have had an eye turn yellowish/gold and on another occasion, violet. There is no “treatment” for this condition, sectorial or complete, but who would want to change that?! I never tell people about my eyes. I let THEM notice, just so I can see their priceless look. To all people with hecterochromia, YOU ARE UNIQUE, AND UNIQUE IS GOOD!
