Healthbolt: it takes a village. A reader on vacation at the Jersey Shore this week discovered this culinary wonder:

If you care to learn how the Double-Grease Oreo is made, Strange Junkfood Tribute has the recipe with step-by-step pictures.
Thanks, Bradley!

Not recommended by your cardiologist…..
But the Doc would totally eat one too!
That is so sick. My ex is from Minnesota and they deep fry everything there. Coming from Oregon I was shocked beyond belief when I visited by how they eat there — it took me about six restaurants before I found someone who knew what a gardenburger was; not that they had one. They actually carve the state fair princess in butter each year. Butter! It’s insane how that state loves their fat. I’m assuming they’d adore this cookie. (no, offense to the healthy Minnesota folk.)
Okay, I’m curious about how they would taste. Would probably hate myself in the morning though lol…
MMMM….MMMM…MMMM … those look like the fried Rocky Mountain Oysters I had once … probably taste about as good too.
LOL, rockies! Okay, reader survey: what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten? Email me!
The NYTimes did a story a while back about deep-fried items—strawberries, avocados, Milky Ways or something like that…..
Yeah!
Deep fried Mars Bars. The caramel is just starting to melt on the inside. Limit: one per weekend.
This is a state fair staple in the south. I admit, I had a few and they were pretty good, but after about 2 of them, you get that, “I wish I hadn’t eaten that” feeling.
Let’s see I also tried fried cheesecake (not very good), fried Snickers bar (not bad), and drum roll please….fried Twinkies (as gross as that sounds…AWESOME!)
Interesting, but I’ve been there, done that and I don’t plan on going there again.
I guess the creme in the middle just starts to get melty. It doesn’t look appetizing. How about some fried Hydrox!
Deep fried oreos are amazing!!! when i first saw the sign i thought oh how gross, but when i tried it i was amazed. its like a funnel cake batter. and its fried just enough to warm the cookie and just start to melt the cream. trust me you must try them!
