Easy health Tip #3: Change lots of little things

Baby steps go out the door…
Look, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was my gut. Since I’m opposed to actually lighting my gut on fire to get rid of it, I’ll have to take it apart a piece at a time. The best way to do this is pretty simple: every way that I can think of.
Being healthy is a state of mind. Lots of little things will add up someday, which is what the Easy Health Tip feature is all about. It’s hard to get up at 6:00am and go run 3 miles. If it wasn’t hard, I would do it everyday instead of 2 or 3 times a week. It’s pretty easy to skip escalators and take the stairs when possible. So I do it every time I get the chance. And while that may not sound like an earth-shattering event (and it’s not), it is a change in your state of mind about things.
If you start doing little things now they’ll add up in the long run. I think of it like saving for your 401k, if you start putting in a dollar a day in your twenties, you’ll beat the late-comer, putting in $50 a day in his forties, every time.
Oh, yeah, and that was tip #3 snuggled up in the second paragraph, in case you missed it.

Alternate approach:
Overwhelming Force
No kidding man, we are not getting any younger, we need to start now while we are still able to run!
Ah yes, StevPavlina.com is an awesome site. I love the \”overwhelming force\” theory, and I consider Steve Pavlina a genius in a few different ways, but you cannot use \”overwhelming force\” on everything in your life.
If you\’re doing a triathlon or starting a business that\’s an awesome method, but if you use it to accomplish goals like \”try and drink more on water\” or \”only eat fast food once a week,\” you\’ll end up overcommiting your resources. It would be like using a .44 Magnum to kill an ant. Effective beyond a doubt, but a waste of resources.
Anyway, that\’s a great article, mildweed. Thanks for posting it. I\’m sure I\’ll be covering a Steve Pavlina theory or two on here in the future.
what’s a “trithlon”?
Corrected, thanks so much.
Now my comment doesn’t make any sense and I look dumb.
I think I could run if someone was chasing me. Usually I have to have a motivation that’s behind me to make me go forward.
Oh, wait – that’s probably my butt.
Okay, so I should start running too.
Dang it.
