Easy Health Tip #31: Unstitch Your Side

Stitch

Most runners exhale as their right foot hits the ground. This puts downward pressure on the liver (which lives on your right side), tugging at the diaphragm and creating a side stitch. Side stitches suck.

If you get a side stitch try exhaling on a left foot strike for a while, or simply alternating which foot strike you’re exhaling on.

Chances are, it will be gone in a jiff.

That makes so much sense. I wish I knew this when I was younger.
