Easy health tip #6: Have fun!

I read a fantastic quote today that is in the same vein as this health tip.
From The Lazy Way to Success -
I love golf. I love everything about it. I don’t think there is a more satisfying experience in all of sports than executing the perfect golf shot and watching the ball scrape the heavens to the joyful accompaniment of celestial hosts oohing and aahing their appreciation in four-part harmony.
Golf is a game. And games are to be played. So I play golf; I don’t work golf.
Now THAT’s a trick to me: loving golf, but the principle is in there.
Sometimes when I go exercise, I forget that it’s FUN to run, it’s FUN to ride a bike down a hill as fast as you can and feel the wind in your hair and the water at the corners of your eyes. Sure you have to get up the hill first, but it’s worth it to be able to do these things. Some people literally CAN’T do any of these things that I take for granted all the time. So I try to have fun to help me stay conscious of how lucky I really am.
Don’t just stare at the ground or your watch when you’re running, look at the scenery and notice smells and noises around you. Life is way too interesting to spend all of it sitting in front of a TV. So get out there and go for a walk, or a jog, or ride a bike, or jump over a puddle.
Don’t get me wrong: I’ve had my share of terrible runs, where I just wasn’t feeling it. But in the grand scheme of things I try and have a good time. This is what our bodies were MADE for and it can be lots of fun to explore that potential.
