Healthbolt

Healthbolt Giveaway: Win a copy of Pilates with Acupressure DVD.

I’m not much of a gym person. I’ve been known to join and then never quite get around to getting there.

I use pretty much every excuse under the sun not to go – it’s too cold, it’s too hot, it’s too wet, it’s snowing, there’s no time, it takes too much time, I have to clean the house (yes, I even resort to that one just to get out of going to the gym).

But I’m okay with exercising at home. There’s a crosstrainer sitting in the home office and often, especially when I’m suffering from writer’s block, I do 5 or 6 kilometers and not only feel refreshed but also unblocked.  And then there are numerous exercise videos and DVDs cluttering up the TV cabinet, all of which get used from time to time.

But just when I think I have enough exercise DVD’s to last me a life time, I come across another that catches my interest.

pilates_acupressure_healthbolt Here’s the newest one – Pilates with Acupressure — An Immune System Boost DVD. Now I’ve already got a few pilates DVDs in the cabinet, but this one, by Kathi Casey,  a ’Healthy Boomer Body Expert’ trained in pilates, yoga, and acupressure, intrigues me because of the added dimension of acupressure.

Here’s how the Pilates with Acupressure — An Immune System Boost DVD is described:  ‘Double the benefit of your work-out!  Pilates builds “core” body strength so why not add Acupressure Point stimulation that also improves our resistance to colds and flu?  Kathi Casey has created a powerful program that is the perfect combination to get the maximum benefit for the least amount of effort.  This is multi-tasking at its best!  This DVD includes a handout with descriptions and illustrations regarding the specific Acupressure Points used and their many benefits.

Interested?

Well, you can win your own copy of Pilates with Acupressure — An Immune System Boost DVD by simply leaving a comment by the 24th Dec telling us whether you’re a gym body or a home exercise body and why.

The immune system boost part of the workout really intrigues me. I have a cruddy immune system so it’d be neat to see if I could change that with some strength/flexibility building workouts!

I’m definitely more of a gym body, but am too broke to afford a membership so I’m using a little freebie gym we have in our work building. It’s nothing big but it works for light stuff. One day I’ll rejoin a big gym!

  2. Kelly says:

I would like to give it to my sister. She just had her 3rd baby over the summer and had a rough time of the pregnancy and delivery. She said she wants to do Pilates but doesn’t have the spare cash to go to a gym. She could do this at home

  3. Maria says:

I am definitely a home exercise body. Yoga and Pilates are my mainstays. I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome, so the acupressure bit interests me.

    Thanks!

  4. Christine says:

I find the acupressure part really intriguing.

I exercise at work – our “gym” has tons of weight machines and an elliptical.

I’d love to expand our offerings.

  5. Ellen says:

I like the gym for the atmosphere. I usually push myself harder and of course, has more options than a home gym would.

  6. asithi says:

I am interested in the acupressure portion of this workout Dvd too. I practice yoga and pilates because of my back problem. I would love to win this dvd to try this out.

  7. Just_Kelly says:

I’m a home workout person aspiring to be a gym workout person. I just can’t find the time currently to go the the gym gym.

  8. Keitha says:

I’ve never heard of this Pilates, but it sounds great! I’ve been looking for a good workout DVD for awhile now!

  9. Jennifer says:

This is a super cool DVD! I would love to try it out! With 4 kids at home, I don’t have the time or money to go to the gym, so need something like this to help me out in getting a good workout! Thanks for the entry!

  10. Mubina says:

This DVD combo sounds great. I am still debating on acupuncture for my knee. It has been hurting a lot again and there is nothing that has seemed to work. I am going through physical therapy and besides acupuncture, surgery is my only option. I am not ready to take that route yet. I do need more information on acupuncture before I can start having someone stick pins in my knee. I would love to try it and see if it helps. The DVD will also help since I have to do exercises at home in between therapy sessions. My therapist will be proud of me!

  11. Jamie says:

Sounds like a great DVD! I never go to the gym. I would much rather work out from home, so no one is staring at me! This would be wonderful!

  12. rbee says:

I love to swim so the gym is the place for me.

  13. dvd says:

I’m a home workout person aspiring to be a gym workout person.

  14. Karin says:

home exercise body —having lots of people around me makes me anxious–eek!

  15. Dree says:

Home exercise body because its cheaper.

  16. Cynthia says:

I’m both a gym body AND a home body! I like the gym, because of the pool and all the weight equipment, but I also do workouts at home on my Nordic Track ski machine and with exercise videos and whatnot. It’s just too much to hit the gym every day, so I like having home workouts as well.

I’d love to win a Pilates DVD!

  17. DARIJAVAN says:

I work out at home and I need all the help I can get. I never tried Pilates but I would love to give it a try.
