Though no harm planting trees and sitting by a window, it doesn't seem to be a solution to a "Sucky job" or a sucky workplace. The interviewer warned me that the CEO insisted that no one be allowed to have any plants on their desks. Also, no one was allowed any photos or knick knacks to be displayed in their area. He believed that doing this made people 'more effective.' Last I checked, that company is not doing very well at all. I interviewed once at a large company in Silicon Valley.
